A Letter from our Lead Planter
Hello and welcome to Lifebridge Church's website! We are glad you stopped by to take a look. Some of you might be friends from afar checking in on our ministry, and others might be locals who have heard of LifeBridge and are wondering about our church. Whatever brings you here, we hope our site serves as a window into what our vision and purpose are in planting a new work here in Pinellas County.
So what is the heartbeat, the "DNA" of Lifebridge Church?
Bottom line....we are not here for us, period. Our joy hinges on getting this straight. Our purpose is forever lost if we fail to get it! This life is not about us.
So, when it comes to LifeBridge Church, our purpose, our "DNA" is pretty straightforward. We are not our own. We have been purchased with a price, the shed blood of Jesus Christ. We are His subjects and we can live life free from the chains of death courtesy of His sacrificial death for our sins. We can find the joy of living life under the King's sovereign charge...where healing, transformation, purpose and joy come to full bloom. We live for the glory of the King! We find joy in His rule. Everything we do is to this end...His eternal glory and our joy!
And in this, the King Himself has offered depth and purpose to LifeBridge by giving us this name...a name that signifies that God has set a flame in us. He has empowered us and led us to become a bridge to the hopeless of Pinellas County, to those enslaved to death and death's handmaiden, sin.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.
The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself
and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ, God
was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them,
and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation."
(2Corinthians 5:17-19 ESV)
It's not about us...we have been given life by the power of the gospel! Now, in His power and grace, we are to go build bridges! That's LifeBridge.
