Our Story

How do I summarize the call of God and the movement of Jesus to plant LBC? I think it was a few people who were growing dissatisfied with life as we knew it. We didn't think we were living right...believed there was more to church than what we were doing. As we prayed...a mission unfolded...

Why plant a church? 

Imagine a church fully devoted to the purposes of God...

We need to imagine... 
              because the Christian church in America is in trouble.

  • Nationally, roughly 3500 churches close each year.
  • An estimated 2 out of every 10 Americans attend church on any given Sunday.
  • There are only enough church plants to keep up with 1/8 of the U.S. population growth.
  • Nationally, there are only 100 churches planted for every 1 million people and with an average attendance of 80-90 people, housing a mere total of 8000-9000 people.
  • The church planting rate has been declining throughout the history of our country. [1,2]

People are more disconnected, disenfranchised, segregated, lonely, and they are searching for answers. The truth is, God has designed the church to offer THE answer.

Several months ago, God brought together a small group of people who began to envision a church centered on the power of the gospel to transform people's lives and redeem a city for His glory. Over time and prayer, God led us to plant LifeBridge Church in Pinellas County, Florida .


Why Pinellas County?

Pinellas County (St. Petersburg/Clearwater) is the most densely populated county in the state of Florida. Like any metropolitan area, the "haves" are living right across the street from the "have-nots", and brokenness is evident on both sides.  Homelessness, crime and poverty demonstrate clear and unmistakable needs, while others live with hidden depression, loneliness, and lack of purpose.  It is to the rich and the poor that we have been sent, in order that they might know true hope: the transforming power of Jesus Christ...

Why the name LifeBridge?
